Propulsion

Hydrogen peroxide has been used as a propellant since the 1940's. Current uses include hypergolic bi-propellant engines for low-cost launch vehicles, mono-propellant systems to power satellites or helicopters and land-based and submarine applications. We currently offer two high-concentration hydrogen peroxide products; Propulse™ 875 and Propulse™ 900 hydrogen peroxide.

Hydrogen peroxide for propulsion

Interest in hydrogen peroxide as an environmentally friendly, non-cryogenic propellant is increasing, especially since it has been made commercially available in high-concentration (>85 percent) form, which offers improved economics and performance efficiencies (more energy generation per unit volume). Its environmentally benign nature, combined with good storability, makes Propulse™ hydrogen peroxide an attractive option for future propulsion systems.
